Description/Reflection
During this project, my task was to learn as much as possible in the amount of time we had and try to form my very own food ethic. During that time we learned about many different thoughts and perspectives on food ethic, what should and shouldn’t be done. We read a book called The Omnivore’s Dilemma. This book gave many ideas and showed us the truth about the food we eat in America. This project gave many true insight and it really did change my thoughts on what we eat on a daily basis.
The interdisciplinary nature from this project was very beneficial to my learning. By having multiple different ideas, it made me really understand where I stand on the issue. I was able to gather multiple ideas to help me form my own ethic. I could learn something and decide if I agree with it or not. It was exciting to take my own path and come up with my own thoughts and figure out what I am going to do about it.
I think that the main takeaways from this project is the information that I gathered from The Omnivore's Dilemma and all the facts that came with it. It was very true and easy to understand. Before this project I knew that there were bad ingredients in many things but I did not understand the extent of it. I did not know what those ingredients were and how they really affected our bodies.
